Great news for Construction Professionals as the need for tradespeople and professionals within the building and construction sector in Australia is currently on the rise. This is following red hot conditions in the apartment building market.
According to a recent analysis of employment, the demand for construction professionals in Australia was up by 13% in October in comparison to the same month last year.
Careers for Construction Professionals look secure.
Topping the list is the demand for health, safety, and environment professionals which was up by 37%. That is followed by plant and machinery operators and contracts managers whose demands were up by 33% and 30% respectively. Estimators, surveyors, project managers, forepersons, and planning and scheduling professionals are also in high demand.
Based on a year-on-year comparison, contract mangers had the highest number of job ads with an average salary of $104,349. This is then followed by estimators, forepersons/supervisors and health, safety and environment.
As for the demands by states, New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland are at the top of the leader-board with advertisements rising by 16%, 25% and 19% respectively. South Australia is up by 37%, while ACT increased by 8%.
The demands for these professionals within the construction sector continue. In a report by ABS data, it was shown that the number of people employed within this sector has risen from 1.039 million people to 1.074 million over the past two years.
